We have updated the detection model behind the Disposable Email Domains Database, the daily feed of scored disposable email domains used for sign-up validation, email list hygiene, and threat intelligence enrichment.

What’s improved

• More precise detection. At 99% detection precision, measured on a held-out sample of feed domains at our production threshold, legitimate domains are less likely to get flagged as disposable, so you can enforce stricter policies without disrupting the experience of legitimate customers.
• Scoring based on four signals. Each score is based on a combination of signals, including domain profile, email configuration, infrastructure footprint, and blocklist evasion cues.
• Broader coverage. The feed tracks 162,000+ disposable domains, and 25,000+ of them come from infrastructure analysis and don’t appear on any public blocklist.
• Daily refresh. The list is rebuilt every day and new disposable domains are scored as they appear, so it reflects current activity rather than waiting for someone to report a domain.

Set your own thresholds

Every domain gets a score of 0 to 100, meaning that they don’t carry the same risk. What happens next is up to you — choose appropriate risk thresholds and:

• Block high-confidence disposable email domains automatically.
• Verify mid-confidence domains by routing them to an additional verification step (e.g., mailbox-level validation, CAPTCHA, or secondary contact requirement) instead of blocking them right away.
• Allow low-confidence domains to pass through, but continue to monitor.
